This privacy notice covers the Android game Pairwell. Website visits and contact handling are explained in the website privacy notice.
Local play
Pairwell can be played without a separate app account or cloud save. Progress, game results, currency, collection, settings and purchase/reward references are stored locally until reset, clearing app storage or uninstalling. The developer operates no account or game-save server. Requested game storage and access use section 25(2)(2) TDDDG; where personal data is involved, necessary game and purchase functions use Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Google Play Games and optional sync
When Play Games is available, its SDK may authenticate an existing Google gaming profile automatically on launch according to your Google settings. Pairwell can read the player identifier and display name to recognise that connection. This does not itself enable cloud saving or leaderboard participation. Manage the platform connection in Google’s Play Games settings. Recognising this existing connection uses Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for the legitimate interest of restoring your chosen platform connection and saved feature preferences.
Cloud saving starts when you enable it in Settings. Google Play Games Saved Games receives your selected journey, progress and result history, collection, currencies, reward/purchase references and technical journey, player, version and sync identifiers. Synchronisation is attempted on start/resume and changes. Cloud saves and recovery versions remain until deleted; disconnecting stops sync on this device and leaves stored data in place. Transfers use Google’s protected service connection; Pairwell adds no separate end-to-end encryption against Google.
Leaderboard participation is a separate choice. Submitted scores and your Play Games display name can be visible to other players. Friends rankings use Google-authorised friend relationships and permitted player names/scores after any required Google permission. Optional cloud sync, leaderboard participation and friends access use consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; stop them through the app’s controls and manage Google permissions separately. Google gaming data is used for these game functions, not advertising profiles, sale or AI training.
Purchases and Google Play
Google Play processes payments. Pairwell uses product identifiers, purchase tokens/receipts and transaction references to verify, fulfil and restore purchases; it sends Google a hashed journey identifier to associate the purchase with that journey. The developer receives no card or bank details. Google Play may provide order/refund information, submitted reviews and technical-quality reports. Processing uses Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for fulfilment, (c) for legal retention duties and (f) for the legitimate interests of troubleshooting and preventing fraud. Other records are retained only while needed for those purposes. Pairwell has no separate Firebase analytics or crash-reporting integration.
Advertising and privacy choices
Google AdMob supplies optional rewarded ads and skippable offers at result transitions. Depending on the permitted ad mode, its SDK collects and shares IP addresses and derived approximate location, advertising/app set or other device/account identifiers, app/ad interactions and performance diagnostics for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. Google and the ad partners identified in the consent message receive relevant data. Ad traffic is encrypted in transit. Non-personalised ads still process data.
Pairwell targets adults aged 18 and above and has no birthdate or age-selection dialog. Where required, Google’s User Messaging Platform presents privacy choices before eligible ad requests. Consent is the basis for optional advertising processing and device storage/access where required (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and section 25(1) TDDDG). Required privacy choices can be changed or withdrawn in Settings. Ordinary play remains available if you decline; restricted ad availability depends on the region, choices and SDK eligibility. Proportionate security and fraud prevention may use Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Remove Ads suppresses scheduled offers; optional rewarded ads remain available. The purchase does not replace required consent. See Google’s advertising information.
Motion effects and exports
With motion effects enabled, the app reads accelerometer and gyroscope signals to move destination backgrounds. These signals are processed transiently on the device, not saved as a sensor history or sent by Pairwell to the developer or Google. You can turn background motion off in Settings. If you choose a recovery-file export, journey data and technical identifiers are written to the location/provider you select through the system file picker. Exported copies remain there until you delete them and are separate from app/cloud deletion.
Deletion and rights
Local-progress reset and cloud-journey deletion are separate actions in Settings. Cloud deletion requires a successful connection; a small deletion marker can remain to prevent automatic recreation. It does not delete local copies, exports, Google’s independently processed data or legally retained purchase records. For the steps and Google’s controls, see Delete Pairwell data.
Where the legal conditions are met, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability. You may object to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may withdraw consent for the future without affecting earlier lawful processing. Contact Rau.Onlinebusiness@gmail.com. You may complain to a data protection authority, including the Baden-Württemberg authority.
Support and Google processing
For support, I process your sender address, message and information you choose to send, using Gmail, to answer your enquiry. The basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contract-related enquiries, otherwise Article 6(1)(f), with the legitimate interest of providing support. Correspondence is deleted when no longer needed for the enquiry and follow-up, unless legal retention duties or legal claims require storage. Contact is voluntary; sufficient information and a reachable address are needed for a reply. No game save or device report is attached automatically. The website privacy notice explains the shared form, email providers and spam protection.
Google receives the data for its services; for EEA users the provider is generally Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Processing may also take place outside the EEA, including by Google LLC in the USA. Google describes adequacy decisions, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework within its scope, and standard contractual clauses where required in its Google transfer safeguards. That page also explains how to obtain copies of the clauses. See Google's Privacy Policy for Google’s own purposes, retention and account controls.
